To monitor print progress while I’m away or in another room, I use a simple IP camera on both of my printers. I was tired of having my 2nd printer’s view camera sitting on a box.. This got me thinking of how I could design a solid camera mount. I got busy and designed a base to mount the camera to the printer table.
I designed this using Tinkercad, I didn’t need anything super special so using Fusion360 or more advanced software was not necessary.
Some of the initial requirements for the design were:
- The center has to allow the power cord to pass through the center.
- The camera base had a little snap in weight, I could use this to mount the camera without using screws.
- The mount needed to be high enough to have good visibility to the prints on the print bed.
- The mount must be fixed to the table.
Here are some images of the finished product, as of right now it’s working as expected, I’m happy with the results.

If you happen to like this design, it’s on Thingiverse!
